God gave us a gorgeous day in Greenpark for the (hopefully annual?) parish picnic. We began with some rousing worship thanks to Alec, Robyn and Surida, and were encouraged by Mark's sermon to see ourselves again through God's eyes. After the service we enjoyed our picnic lunches and kicked off a few games. French Cricket, three-legged race, tug-o-war, a very fruitful treasure hunt, and even some horse rides. Thanks be to God for the beautiful day, thanks be to the Greenpark Community Centre for hosting us, and thanks be to you for coming and enjoying the day. We're thrilled to be celebrating summer with a parish picnic. Keep the 29th January free, and see below for more details. ![]()
How lovely it was to have a number of full and fun Christmas services. A huge thanks to Liz Hewitt for organising the decorating of the church and leading the magnificent choir pictured above.
How wonderful a thing it is to be able to come together at Christmas and praise God for the gift of Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. We have a range of services in the parish, and welcome you warmly to each and every one of them. Please download the file below for details. ![]()

Another fair has come and gone.
A big thank you to all those who helped make the day what it was. Despite hail coming down immediately after Mark offered the opening prayer, the day turned out to be a good one, and the grand total almost exactly matched that of last year. Preparations are well underway for this year's fair. The jams have been made, the onions have been pickled, the seeds have sprouted, the books have been collected, and the church is overflowing with outstanding second hand goods. Now all that's needed is a fine day on Saturday and an enormous crowd of buyers.
What: Lincoln Parish Fair Where: St Stephen's, Lincoln When: Saturday 29th from 9:30am - 12:30pm What a delight it was to join St Mark's Greenpark for their annual animal blessing service. On the Sunday closest to St Francis of Assisi's commemoration day, a number of churches invite animals into the pews. We bless them, and give thanks to God for their work, companionship, and love.
This year we had 11 dogs and 2 horses join us for worship. On the 14th of October we had our final Alpha session for the year. It has been such an incredibly journey over the last 12 weeks, getting to know more about ourselves, each other, and God. All of the participants and clergy would like to offer a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved with the course. Every week we have been very well fed, supported in prayer, and blown away by Jill Jackson's stunning table decorations!
Bring on the next Alpha series! |
